Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Inherent Technologies ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information in connection with the XgnSMS service (the "Service") operated at xgnsms.com. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email, and password hash when you register.
  • Phone numbers: mobile numbers you provide for sending and receiving SMS through the Service, including your own numbers and those of contacts you message.
  • Message content: the body of SMS messages you send or receive through the Service, stored for delivery, history, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser user agent, device identifiers, and timestamps of API calls and webhook deliveries.
  • Billing data: usage metrics (message counts, segments) used for internal accounting. We do not process credit cards directly; payment providers handle that.

3. SMS messaging — specific disclosures

The Service sends and receives SMS on your behalf via the Telnyx messaging network. The following applies to all phone numbers and SMS traffic processed through XgnSMS:

  • Consent required. You may only send SMS through the Service to recipients who have explicitly opted in to receive messages from you. You are responsible for obtaining and recording consent.
  • Message frequency varies based on your use case (account notifications, verification codes, customer support, etc.).
  • Message and data rates may apply. Recipients' mobile carriers may charge them for received messages.
  • Opt-out. Recipients can reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe. They can reply HELP to receive help information. We honor these keywords and block further messages to unsubscribed numbers.
  • Mobile opt-in data is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
  • Registration. Phone numbers used for SMS may be registered with The Campaign Registry (TCR) or toll-free verification programs as required by U.S. wireless carriers.

4. How we use information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
  • Route SMS to and from the Telnyx network.
  • Store conversation history so you can access past messages.
  • Respond to support requests and prevent abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations and carrier requirements.

5. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with:

  • Telnyx LLC — our upstream SMS carrier, which routes messages to mobile operators.
  • Infrastructure providers (DigitalOcean, Cloudflare) that host the Service.
  • Law enforcement or courts when required by valid legal process.

6. Data retention

Message history is retained for as long as your account is active, or until you delete it. Account data is retained for up to 90 days after deletion for backup and legal purposes. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

7. Security

We protect data in transit with TLS 1.2+ and at rest with industry-standard encryption. API access requires bearer-token authentication. No system is perfectly secure — we recommend you use strong, unique passwords and rotate API keys regularly.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email us at privacy@xgnsms.com to exercise these rights.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
